Share plugin & theme license keys with us

How to securely provide the premium software licenses we need to keep your website's tools updated and secure.

accesssecuritywordpressbeginner

Professional WordPress websites run on premium themes and plugins (like Elementor Pro, WP Rocket, or Advanced Custom Fields). These tools require active "License Keys" to receive critical security updates and new features. If you purchased these tools yourself, we need the license keys to validate them on your site.

Quick summary

Because license keys are valuable intellectual property, do not email them in plain text. Treat them like passwords. Use a secure sharing tool like One-Time Secret to send the license key to your project lead in ClickUp.

How to share a license key securely

Beginner 3 minutes

A premium license key is essentially a digital receipt that proves you own the software. If it falls into the wrong hands, others could use your license to activate their own websites, potentially maxing out your account limits.

Locate the license key. Log in to the website where you purchased the plugin or theme (e.g., your Elementor account dashboard). Look for a section called "Licenses," "Subscriptions," or "API Keys." Copy the string of letters and numbers.

Use a secure sharing tool. Go to a free, encrypted service like One-Time Secret.

Paste the key. Paste the license key into the secret content box and generate a secure link.

Send us the details. In your ClickUp task, tell us which plugin the key is for, and paste the secure link.

Example of a secure message to our team:

"Here is the license key for our WP Rocket subscription. Key: [Link to One-Time Secret]"
